#6  -  TRAVEL CHECKLIST

WHITEHOUSECA: 3 SIRS and RV

As the final week before leaving home base comes up.  It is time we make a final review of items that should be in the RV or in the pile to load in the RV when we have our check out day.  Obviously, not everyone requires all the items which we will list here.  In Blog Post #4,  we listed needed items for our dogs. Listed below are items are for the RV.  Some are always in the RV but we like to check one more time before leaving home.

Extension Cords,   power adapters for plugging in at campsite ,   water hose along with pressure regulator control,   water filtration,   (this reminds me that it is time for a new filter),  plastic water jugs FILLED with water ( for the radiator or spare water if needed),  set of walkie talkies (great to use when guiding driver into a small narrow campsite),  holding tank deodorant,  camping guides and maps ( listed in Blog #4),  writing journal,  pens and pencils,  office supplies (varies as to need),  Favorite music cds and video DVDs,  small fan,  night lights,  flash lights,  alarm clock,  scissors,  knives,  laundry bag,  extra coat hangers,  First Aid Kit along with aspirin and Medications,  batteries for everything which uses batteries,  EXTRA FUSES (a few trips ago these saved us,  a long story for later)  bug spray,  hammer,  Kleenex,  needle-nose pliers,  paper plates,  paper towels,  aluminum foil and plastic wrap,  games and playing cards,  RV TOILET PAPER,  Radio,  tire gauge, trash bags, vacuum cleaner, ziplock bags, cleaning supplies,  dust pan,  sheets and blankets,  soap and dishwashing detergent,  bath towels and wash cloths,  towels for the dogs along with shampoo for the dogs,  suntan lotion,  matches.  Don't forget computer cords or phone cords for charging.   Do you have a sat. radio in your RV?  Don't forget to call and have it started.  The same if you have a TV Sat. service such as Dish or Direct TV.

Oh yes, we can not forget things like RV Operating manuals, proof of insurance, vehicle registrations.  I am working on a checklist but every trip is different-depending on where and for how long.

I did not list all items used for cooking.  Those depend of so many things.   We always have a coffee pot, electric pan, toaster,  dishes both plastic and paper and silverware in the RV.  We took our old items and are getting use from them.

I understand that the list is long---but remember the RV is your home on wheels for an extended time.  Either load it in,  buy it if you can,  or do without.  Check and recheck.  Don't blame someone else because you did not check.

Top 10 Reasons to Live with a CAVALIER

1.  The constantly wagging tail is as good as air conditioning on hot days.
2.  The body heat generated when they sit on you lap saves on heating bills in winter.
3.  You won't have to wash your face or your dishes.
4.  The feathering on their feet sweeps up all the dust on the floor.
5.  They are chick magnets.
6.  You will get extra attention from flight attendants if you are traveling with one.
7.  It's nice to have company in the bathroom.
8.  They'd rather cuddle than watch football.
9.  Petting one will lower your blood pressure.
10. The number 1 reason to live with a Cavalier:  Each day you are reminded to face life with a   Cavalier attitude.

I want to thank Kim C. Thornton and the Editors of Dog Fancy Magazine for this list.

Keep an eye out for the back of our RV.  The 3 SIRS  will be easy to see on the road.  You can follow us also on our website as well as this blog.  Don't forget to sign up on our website.
